The Schild name has a long history in the Barossa, dating back to 1952 when Ben Schild purchased the Three Springs Farm property in Rowland Flat and settled with his family. Today, second and third generation vigneron’s work side by side to solidify Schild Estate’s reputation, built on its commitment to translating the unique tapestry of its vineyards into wines that speak of honesty and drinkability.
2010 BAROSSA CABERNET SAUVIGNON
The Schild Estate 2010 Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon is a genuine expression of this great variety from a select and particular part of the Barossa. Our quest has been to produce a wine with great varietal definition and a real sense of place.
Sourced from our Angus Brae vineyard in the cooler southern portion of the Barossa, the grapes for this wine are harvested at optimum ripeness in the cool of the night.
Arriving quickly at the winery, the fruit is then de-stemmed and crushed, before being fermented in contact with the skins to extract as much colour and flavour as possible. The result is a wine generous in style whilst also showing some real elegance.
COLOUR:
Dark red magenta
BOUQUET:
Intense red fruit and plums on the nose
PALATE:
Dark, juicy red berry fruit and plums on the front palate with soft, round, but persistent tannins on the end ensuring this wine has complexity, length, finesse and a good varietal presence.
