The Schild name has a long history in the Barossa, dating back to 1952 when Ben Schild purchased the Three Springs Farm property in Rowland Flat and settled with his family. Today, second and third generation vigneron’s work side by side to solidify Schild Estate’s reputation, built on its commitment to translating the unique tapestry of its vineyards into wines that speak of honesty and drinkability.
2011 BAROSSA FRONTIGNAC
In a return to a traditional style of white wine from the Barossa, the Schild Estate Frontignac has a reputation for being a generous and easy drinking wine.
The 2011 version not only shows a semi-sweet forwardness of tropical fruits, but is balanced with a tight brace of light citrus acid at the end of the palate. The complexity of the style will allow immediate enjoyment or reward you with a real treasure after cellaring.
COLOUR:
Clear and bright with a fresh green tinge
BOUQUET:
Bright and intense aromas of tropical fruit and florals
PALATE:
The bright tropical fruits so evident in the bouquet continue through to the palate. Here they combine with a generous semi sweet mouth feel to provide some real depth of flavour. All of this is then balanced by the presence of some clean, taut acidity which ensures the wine finishes with direction, length and brightness.
