The Schild name has a long history in the Barossa, dating back to 1952 when Ben Schild purchased the Three Springs Farm property in Rowland Flat and settled with his family. Today, second and third generation vigneron’s work side by side to solidify Schild Estate’s reputation, built on its commitment to translating the unique tapestry of its vineyards into wines that speak of honesty and drinkability.
2011 BAROSSA RIESLING
Ed Schild purchased the Tweedies Gully vineyard in 1977, noting that with its westerly aspect, high altitude and sandy loam soils the vineyard was a perfect fit for premium Riesling production.
With a good depth of flavour and some lovely floral notes, this Riesling encapsulates the generous style that is purely Barossa. Whilst good acidity with lean, clean characters ensures this is another well balanced Riesling from Schild Estate.
COLOUR:
Clear and bright with green hues.
BOUQUET:
Lifted floral notes and enticing citrus aromas.
PALATE:
Delicate florals on the front palate provide a generous depth of flavour to this wine. A well integrated citrus backbone on the back of the palate then ensures freshness, clear direction and a nice taut structure.
