Schild Estate Team

Casey Mohr

General Manager

In early 2011, I was given the opportunity to start in the role of General Manager for Schild Estate Wines, it is extremely exciting to be working with a family who have such passion for wine and the Barossa Valley. I have worked previously for the “big guys” of the liquor industry in Australia the likes of Pernod Ricard, Fosters and Australian Vintage in many different roles across finance, sales (domestic and international) and marketing. The role here at Schild is as diversified as it gets, having the opportunity to oversee the winery, production, sales and administration. When I am not working you will find me being Mum to my daughter Maggie, or up the river waterskiing, being “pitcrew chief” for my husband Michael at a race track somewhere in Australia, or just catching up with friends and family somewhere in the Adelaide Hills.

Scott Hazeldine

Chief Winemaker

Born and raised in Africa and educated in the UK, I fell into the world of winemaking by accident in my mid twenties.  Since then I have been lucky enough to work in St Emilion in Bordeaux and in the Napa Valley in California as well as here at home in the Barossa. This is where my quest to make the best booze I possibly can as well as eating as many German small goods as available, means I am kept pretty busy and out of mischief! When not up at the winery, I can usually be found cheering on the Wallabies or hopefully enjoying all the Valley has to offer with friends and family.

 Anna Watson

National Sales Manager

After years of working in hospitality and then running my own business I thought I would try my luck at selling wine. Seven years ago I joined the wine industry on the coal face in the Adelaide market and I quickly realised that I had found my new passion, I could sell wine as well as enjoying it. I have represented many fantastic wineries throughout my career and have really enjoyed the people and adventures along the way- maybe even a few hangovers. I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to come to Schild Estate in July 2010 and really enjoy working with the family, the team and the brand, although still acclimatizing to driving to the Barossa each day! I keep myself busy with friends and family who all love to have a good time and can sometimes lead me astray. And on a Sunday afternoon if I am not travelling you will generally find me cooking up a storm with ipod playing and my 9 month old puppy running around.

Sandra Zachopoulos

Accounts & Administration

I have been at Schild Estate for almost 5 years, prior to that a jack of all trades, admin to sales to HR. I think that’s why they employed me here! Maybe Ed just needed someone to keep an eye on his daughter Judy! My husband and 2 grown up handsome boys, along with the team here at Schild Estate keep me on my toes! I am also heavily involved with the local Barossa Districts footy club, where most of my social time is spent throughout winter. Love a few bevvies with friends old and new.

Glenn Hope

Warehouse Coordinator

I am the longest standing, non family employee at Schild Estate and some say just part of the furniture. As warehouse coordinator, I go about my own business and get the job done, so I can enjoy a wine after work. After moving from Sydney in 1997, I decided to make my home here in the Barossa and I haven’t looked back. From the hustle and bustle of the big city, the Barossa is a place I enjoy. Quiet most of the time until our Christmas party comes around! That’s when I become the larrikin of the group and I must admit, I don’t mind being the centre of attention. Someone has to do it!!

Dave Appleby

Cellar Hand

Born and raised in Williamstown, there wasn’t much doubt that I would end up in the wine industry. I have been in the cellars for 18 years and lucky enough to work for some great companies and see some amazing wines over that time. When not at work, my lovely lady and four children keep me fairly busy, but if I do find five minutes then I always try and fit some fishing or four wheel driving in at the weekends.

Sam Eckert

Area Manager-Sales

I was born and bred in the town of Quorn in the Flinders Ranges, and lived the first 17 years of my life blissfully unaware of the wonderful world of wine. Following graduation from University, I landed an internship with a US based Australian wine importer, and trained in wine sales in Los Angeles, travelling to San Francisco, Chicago, San Diego and Las Vegas in pursuit of more and more wine knowledge. I returned home to work a vintage in Langhorne Creek, and was glad most of all to be out of LA traffic. I support the Swans and Double Blues, am a member of the SACA, my favourite place in the world is Adelaide Oval.

Jacqueline Tols

Area Manager-Sales

Born and bred in Henley Beach, I’m certainly not a country girl! I started working in F & B in a five star hotel here in Adelaide and spent the last five years working in hospitality, which has cultivated passion for wine. In my spare time I enjoy catching up with friends and sharing a nice bottle of wine (goes without saying). I feel blessed to live near the beach which I frequent regularly, especially in summer, for a swim or to dine at one of the local cafes or restaurants. I am also extremely religious.., my religion is AFL and I follow the Crows avidly especially with a loud voice at live games.

Paul Miller

Area Manager-Sales

Born and raised in the Adelaide hills I went to Mercedes College. After leaving school I decided that university was not for me. I started working in hospitality, working my way through front bars, gaming rooms, bottle shops and finally into restaurants. This is where my love of wine started. I love playing social sports including cricket and netball. Cooking and food also play an important part in my down time. My favourite football team is the Adelaide Crows.

Charles Willis

US Marketing & Sales Representative

I am the youngest child of a self-employed family. My family was in the Lumber manufacturing business, owned a grocery store and raised beef cattle, we ran 1500 head of cattle. I was either shovelling saw dust, manure, or dealing with customers at the grocery store. I entered the wine industry in Dallas, TX and later had the opportunity to be a regional manager for the Robert Mondavi Winery. It was a great experience to be mentored by Robert, Michael and Tim Mondavi. After leaving the Robert Mondavi Winery, it did not take long for me to realize that my place in life was to work for a family owned business, especially one that made great wines and priced them competitively [Schild Estate].
