The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon is purple-coloured with a reticent nose of oak, spice box, tobacco, and black currants. It exhibits spicy flavours, decent depth and a lingering finish.

Lifted and perfumed to begin, the concentration of dark fruit had one judge thinking of pure, squeezed blackberry essence. All the elements are here in balance with a fruitful palate, well focussed and fine tannins, and long, lingering finish. Voluptuous.

I credit myself with discovering this Barossa winery and promoting it to all and sundry. Go hunt for the amazingly intense and luscious blackberries, ripe blackcurrants and rich plums and you too will be a Schild ambassador. Drink for up to 8 to10 years.
