Wine Enthusiast 90 Points

An excellent Shiraz, full-bodied and lush. Blackberry fruit dominates the aromas, framed by vanilla and just a touch of dill. Folds in plenty of earthy complexity on the palate, plus hints of cola and coffee, making this more than just a simple fruit and oak confection. November 1, 2007

James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2008 92/100

Powerful, dense and concentrated; a no-holds-barred Barossa Shiraz tailored for the palate of Robert Parker and the US; some heat, but certainly masses of flavour.

The Advertiser - Tony Love

Absolutely singing of cherry and choc-mint to begin, with anise and tarry oak characters adding a beautiful complexity. It’s got seamless power, huge flavours and a “don’t mess with me” attitude. Serve with intense food or cellar it for a decade.

Winestate Magazine (AUS) World's Greatest Shiraz Challenge 2006

Youthful Colour. Sweet oak and plum fruit aromas, with a long soft palate that's quite oaky but with plenty of ripe fruit underneath to carry it.

Wine Enthusiast (USA) Top 100 Wines of 2006

This is a big, lush, lavishly oaked wine that nonetheless pulls it all together with balance and elegance. Inky black in color, it leads with a blast of toasty, mentholated oak on the nose, backed by waves of blueberries and mint. Then the flavours call to mind dark chocolate and coconut, accented by almonds and the recurring blueberries. It’s creamy-textured and finishes long, with supple tannins that deftly dry your palate; they’re almost unnoticeable yet still provide structure. Drink now-2012, maybe longer.
